Mineral glass
Clear glass
We mostly use mineral glass for bus stop shelters. This traditional unique material is very easy maintained, difficult to scratch, easy to clean, and it cannot be burnt by a cigarette etc. Glass is used in thickness of 8 and 10 mm and it is heat-treated. This significantly increases not only its strength and resistance to mechanical damage, but in case of violent and deliberate breakage, the safety against cutting of people is ensured. The safety heat – treated glass is used in two versions. Clear glass – this glass is especially suitable for vertical shelters. In order to increase safety, large glass surfaces are provided with prints or paints preventing people from possible collision with glass due to low visibility. It is possible to select the Satination version for the roofs. This chemically treated glass gives the impression of the sandblasted glass and so therefore it is not transparent. This is the way of shelters shading against the direct sunshine. This version is especially useful in summer months.
Polycarbonate
We use cellular polycarbonate fillings for the roofs of some particular shelter types. The advantage of this material is especially its light weight compared to glass. We use polycarbonate pre-stressed only in the roof constructions of arched cross-section. This results in a significant increase of bearing capacity. We usually use a four – chamber design called Multiclear Stron, thickness 16 mm. It is possible to use these shelters even in mountain areas where the roof is significantly weighted by snow.
